HOLYOKE — Police are investigating two possible homicides in recent days.
Holyoke Police Lt. Michael McCoy said law enforcement was called to 593 South Bridge St. at 9:53 a.m. Friday after a maintenance worker noticed a man lying on the ground at the rear of the building and was worried he was not breathing.
The person was already dead, with with multiple gunshot wounds, when an officer and an ambulance arrived, McCoy said.
The building is across the street from the William G. Morgan Elementary School.
A second person was killed in a Saturday night shooting in the area of Sergeant Street at Maple Street, MassLive reported.
Efforts to contact police officials for further information were unsuccessful Sunday evening.
Massachusetts State Police are assisting the Holyoke Police Department with the investigation, McCoy said.
