SOUTH HADLEY — The Police Department is warning residents to lock their cars, saying that several people have lost valuables from unlocked cars in the new year.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. Wednesday, several unlocked motor vehicles had items stolen from them.

The post goes on to say that this occurred in the areas of Ridge and Brigham roads, McDowell, Forest and Michael drives, and Dartmouth, Harvard, Cornell and W. Cornell streets, and asks residents of those areas to check any surveillance cameras they may have for footage of the alleged crimes.

Anyone with questions should contact the police department.
