Amherst Regional’s Nico Christakos and Frontier Regional’s Coriann Delaney each placed second at the PVIAC’s fifth alpine ski race of the season Thursday at Berkshire East.
Christakos completed the slalom course in 32.54 seconds, just .65 seconds behind St. Mary’s Jack Masciadrelli.
Edward Przybyla of Hampshire Regional followed in third (32.85), while Northampton’s Nate Jones was fourth (32.96).
Zachary Ames of Gateway Regional finished seventh (33.88), and teammate Dawson Kelly took 10th (34.5).
Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School’s Sebastian English placed 11th (34.92), Northamptons’ Burke Warren 14th (35.86) and the Blue Devils Benjamin Delacour 15th (35.96).
The Blue Devils were first in the North followed by Gateway in second. PVCICS placed second in the South. Hampshire took third.
In the girls giant slalom, Delaney clocked 26.11 seconds. Mohawk Trail’s Taylor Loomis remained unbeaten, placing first in 25.46.
Juliett Scott of PVCICS was fifth (27.12). Northampton’s Ellia Mahoney finished ninth (27.84) followed by Sora Green of Amherst (27.95).
Gateway’s Isabel Beaudry-Hathaway placed 12th (28.12), Hampshire’s Summer Duda 13th (28.13) and PVCICS’ Sarah Fardal 14th (28.25).
PVCICS took second in the South, while Hampshire was third. Northampton finished fourth as a team in the North followed by Frontier in fifth.
