NORTHAMPTON — An Amherst man pleaded not guilty in Hampshire Superior Court last week to charges that he raped an 18-year-old woman who has developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Torey L. Davis, 45, has been charged with two counts of rape, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person with an intellectual disability, assault and battery on a person with an intellectual disability, intimidation of a witness and violation of restraining order.
According to a police report obtained through court documents, Davis allegedly raped the woman between Nov. 25 and Nov. 26 at an Amherst home. The alleged victim was known to Davis, according to court documents.
Davis allegedly admitted to some of the accusations in a police interview Nov. 27, a police report states. He also allegedly said that he was aware of the woman’s disabilities.
Davis was represented by attorney Cory Mescon and was released on $5,000 bail and $50,000 surety he posted last month in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown. He is due back in court on Feb. 13 for a detention hearing as requested by Northwestern Assistant District Attorney Sandra J. Staub.
