The corrupt GOP majority in the U.S. Senate just anointed a king, Alan Dershowitz, in defending President Donald Trump against the abuse of power charge. Dershowitz stated, “If a president does something which he believes will help him get elected in the public interest, that cannot be the kind of quid pro quo that results in impeachment.”

Neal Katyal, former acting U.S. solicitor general, a Supreme Court lawyer and a Georgetown University law professor, pointed out that would include, for instance, sending the U.S. Army to your town to arrest anybody who didn’t vote for Trump.

The corrupt and cowardly GOP majority in the Senate is on track to acquit the president of his crimes, and by doing so, will have anointed us a king.
