Jordyn Meunier struck for a career-high 35 points, and the Williston Northampton girls basketball team bested Cheshire Academy 73-59 on Saturday. She hit six 3s and went 5-for-5 from the free throw line, adding seven rebounds and five steals. Cristina Negron added 19 points and five assists on four 3s.
Southampton’s Caroline O’Connor added four points and five assists.
Boys basketball
Williston 74, Suffield 69 — Billy Whelan sank 10 straight free throws and sealed a 69 victory Saturday. He scored 22 points.
Cooper Creek led the Wildcats with 24 points.
Tanner Thomas tallied 14 points in the second half, and Wol Maiwn scored eight.
Loomis Chaffee 2, Williston 1 — Riley Roche scored from the slot in the second period, but the Wildcats fell on the road Saturday.
Loomis converted a five on three late in the second period for the winner.
Natalie Stott saved 19 shots.
