The 17th-ranked UMass men’s lacrosse team outscored Albany by three goals in the fourth quarter of a 17-12 victory, Tuesday at Garber Field.
The Minutemen (4-2) led 13-11 entering the final 15 minutes when four straight goals gave them some separation en route to their third straight win.
Devin Spencer scored off a Mike Tobin assist one minute into the frame. With 7 minutes, 43 seconds left Tobin scored in a man-up situation on a pass from Gabriel Procyk.
Spencer and Chris Connolly added the last two goals to give UMass a 17-11 lead with four minutes left.
Billy Philpott and Connolly each finished with four goals. Spencer and Tobin each had three.
Matt Knote made 14 saves in the win.
