Closures, changes

The Garden Club of Amherst is canceling its plant sale this year.

The Women’s Leadership Luncheon Series scheduled for spring 2020 at the HCC MGM Culinary Art Institute has been canceled.

As of Thursday, March 19, UMass Five Credit Union branches at King Street, Northampton, UMass Worcester, and Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, will be closed to routine transactions, with the sole exception of emergency and in-person-signature-required documents. These must be scheduled via phone call and will occur only between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Worcester branch is only accessible to badged Hospital or University employees at this time.

The Hadley branch will re-open on Friday, and will follow the same protocol as mentioned above. Video teller machines and drive-up will be accessible again early next week. UMassFive ATMs are still operating and available as usual.

UMass Amherst and VAF branch locations remain temporarily closed until further notice. For the most real-time updates, please continue to refer to the bank’s website.

Florence Bank has closed branch lobbies to regular traffic and will service customers at drive-ups and by appointment only in their lobbies. Customers may call the call center at 413-586-1300. Services will be available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no Saturday hours.

If you are feeling healthy and need to close on a loan, access your safe deposit box, or get a new debit card, please make an appointment by calling your branch directly.

AT&T is closing more than 40% of company owned stores nationwide and will focus resources on select stores to meet the immediate service needs of customers, including first responders and healthcare providers.

Stores that remain open will operate with adjusted hours – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and all stores will be closed Sundays.

Staff in the remaining open stores will adhere to social distancing guidelines. Employees who are in locations that have closed due to COVID-19 will be reassigned.

The full letter and additional information on AT&T response plans including Network preparedness, support for first responders, guidance for our employees and a list of our retail stores that are currently open, is available at about.att.com/pages/COVID-19.html.

Springfield Registry of Motor Vehicles has reopened, but officials ask customers to please try to use online transactions whenever possible. Customers visiting the open centers will be issued tickets on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to those customers with transactions that cannot be completed online.

As of March 16, the RMV implemented a deadline extension: residents with Class D and Class DM driver’s licenses, ID cards, and Learner’s Permits that have an expiration date between March 1, 2020 and April 30, 2020, will have a 60-day extension applied to that customer’s credential. Customers eligible for this extension should wait to visit an RMV Service Center, and renew credentials after the State of Emergency is over.

This deadline extension does not apply to customers with Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs) or those whose end of stay in the United States is the same as the expiration date on their driver’s license, ID card, or Learner’s Permit.

Amherst Copy/Valley Signworks are open and able to produce a wide variety of signs and banners, although they are not permitting customers into the store for the health and safety of everyone.  They offer fast turnaround times – many signs can be ready the same day. They print lawn signs, open signs, and closed signs. More information on ordering and available services at amherstcopy.com.

D.Hotel & Suites remains open to serve guests with breakfast and meal options available.

The company is following all the guidelines provided by the CDC to reduce the risk of exposure, utilizing enhanced cleaning procedures to ensure the safest environment for both hotel patrons and employees.  They are disinfecting all public surfaces on a very regular schedule and have made hand sanitizer readily available to all customers and staff. Each room is being thoroughly cleaned after each use as per the usual process.  While Massachusetts restaurants are closed for sit down dining, they have developed a partnership with sister facility Delaney’s Market, to provide fresh ready-made meals for visitors via the front desk.
