■A public Concert of Sacred Music will be given by the choir of singers under the direction of Mr. Lucas, at the meeting house in Worthington, on Thursday, the 30th inst. at one-o’clock P.M.

■Clover and herd’s grass seed; also, a complete assortment of Shaker garden seeds, being all of the last year’s growth, just received and for sale by Samuel Clarke & Sons, Merchant’s Row, Northampton.

■The Connecticut River has risen about three feet since yesterday afternoon and is now nearly eight feet above the low water mark. The ice is breaking up in different spots, but conditions remain about the same as yesterday.

■Dr. Thomas Guilfoil of Pleasant Street has opened a dental office in Greenfield and moved there with his family this week.

■The only Irish mayor in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Holyoke yesterday was Northampton’s Sean M. Dunphy. Marching with him were members of the City Council, including council president Edward Gross, John Rockett, Robert Patenaude, and Joseph Bonneau.

■The appointment of Robert F. Nowlan of Milford, Conn. as the new director of recreation for Amherst has been announced this week by Town Manager Allen L. Torrey. Nowlan, who is the second to hold this position, will assume his responsibilities March 23. He succeeds Miss Dawn Bressie.
