AMHERST — Former 3rd Hampshire District representative Solomon Goldstein-Rose, who has been a champion of finding solutions to climate change, is set to launch a book and outreach project on the topic this week.

“The 100% Solution: A Plan for Solving Climate Change,” which will be available beginning Tuesday, discusses a framework for the United States and other entities to find a global solution to climate change by 2050.

Featuring over 80 illustrations, the book focuses on the fact that two-thirds of greenhouse gas emissions come from developing countries, and aims to shift people’s mindset from one of “doing our part” as a state or country to one of pursuing policy leadership that can “solve the global problem.”

The outreach initiative will include free webinar “100% Solution messaging workshops” for college climate organizations and others. These workshops will give participants a technical background to draw on in their activism, and will focus on effective messaging.

Goldstein-Rose’s work on the book came after he opted against pursuing reelection in 2018.

Published by Melville House, the book’s cover image and illustrations were created by Violet Kitchen.

Goldstein-Rose is also offering free local virtual events for schools, religious groups and climate activist organizations. For more information about the 100% Solution framework, send email to Solomon@SolomonGR.com or visit SolomonGR.com.
