NORTHAMPTON — Due dates for personal property taxes, real estate taxes and other city bills has been extended, Mayor David Narkewicz announced Friday.
Real estate and personal property tax bills due on May 1 are now due on June 1. Motor vehicle excise taxes and water, sewer and stormwater utility bills due on March 10 or later are now due on June 1. And, applications for tax deferrals and property tax exemptions are now due June 1.
The statement added that the mayor is also “waiving the payment of interest and other penalties in the event of late payment of any real estate, personal property, motor vehicle excise, water, sewer or stormwater utility bill for an additional month, giving Northampton taxpayers until June 30, 2020, to make payment without incurring interest or demand late fees.”
