On Cinco de Mayo, Mama Iguana’s is typically busy. “It is normally the busiest day of the year by far, by far,” said Claudio Guerra, the owner of the Mexican restaurant and other downtown Northampton eateries, including Spoleto. This year, Mama Iguana’s was closed, but Guerra was still cooking. He and his team made 400 meals to drop off for the nurses at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. “I had this plan weeks ago,” Guerra said. “I thought it would be fun to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and help cheer people up.”
