The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 1,239 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 infections Friday and 110 new deaths. There are now 83,421 confirmed cases statewide and 5,592 deaths.

The state reported Friday that 11,318 new tests were conducted, and 435,679 tests have been performed overall.

Overall, 3% of current cases in Massachusetts require hospitalization, and 749 people with the virus are in intensive care units.

The state has reported 738 confirmed cases and 67 deaths in Hampshire County, 304 cases and 43 deaths in Franklin County, and 5,038 cases and 494 deaths in Hampden County. Among confirmed cases, the average age of death is 82, the average age of hospitalization is 68, and the average age of those infected is 53.

Area hospitals

Cooley Dickinson Hospital is treating 10 inpatients with confirmed COVID-19 infection as of Friday, three of whom are in the intensive care unit.

An additional 82 outpatients are under investigation for COVID-19 infection. The hospital has had 643 people test positive overall.

Baystate Health is treating 83 inpatients for confirmed COVID-19 infection across all of its hospitals, including 14 patients in critical care units. Eighty are hospitalized at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Nineteen inpatients are under investigation for COVID-19 infection.

Baystate has tested 9,951 people to date, with 1,491 results coming back positive, 8,254 negative, and 206 pending results.
