NORTHAMPTON — The state Department of Public Health reported 1,045 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 infections on Wednesday and 128 new deaths. There are now 88,970 confirmed cases statewide and 6,066 deaths.
The state reported on Wednesday that 13,013 new tests were conducted, making a total of 489,953 tests overall in Massachusetts since the start of the pandemic.
The state has reported 792 confirmed cases and 76 deaths in Hampshire County, an increase of 12 cases and three deaths since Tuesday. There are 309 cases and 46 deaths in Franklin County and 5,418 cases and 526 deaths in Hampden County.
Cooley Dickinson Hospital was treating eight inpatients with confirmed COVID-19 infection as of Wednesday, one of whom was in the intensive care unit.
An additional 134 outpatients are under investigation for COVID-19 infection. The hospital has had 674 people test positive overall.
Baystate Health is treating 63 inpatients, all of whom are hospitalized at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, for confirmed COVID-19 infection, including 18 patients in critical care units.
Twenty-four inpatients are under investigation for COVID-19 infection.
Baystate has tested 11,122 people to date, with 1,599 results coming back positive, 9,457 negative, and 66 pending results.
