NORTHAMPTON — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 412 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 infections on Thursday and 50 new deaths, in addition to 59 new probable cases. There are now 98,376 confirmed cases statewide and 7,062 deaths among those cases.

The state reported on Thursday that 7,115 new tests for the virus were conducted, and 621,248 tests have been performed overall.

The state has reported 894 confirmed cases and 94 deaths in Hampshire County, 337 cases and 47 deaths in Franklin County and 6,268 cases and 609 deaths in Hampden County.

Among people with confirmed cases, 1,637 are hospitalized, 401 of whom are in intensive care units.

The seven-day weighted average of positive test rates has decreased by 80% since April 15, while the three-day average of hospitalized COVID-19 patients has decreased by 54% within this same period.

Cooley Dickinson Hospital reported on Thursday that it is treating seven inpatients with confirmed COVID-19 infection, three of whom are in the intensive care unit.

An additional 66 outpatients and one inpatient are under investigation for COVID-19 infection. To date, the hospital has had 735 people test positive.

Baystate Health is treating 44 inpatients for confirmed COVID-19 infection, all of whom are hospitalized at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, including 11 patients in critical care units. Thirty-five inpatients are under investigation for COVID-19 infection overall.

Baystate Health has tested 14,625 individuals in total, with 1,797 testing positive, 12,758 testing negative and 70 pending results.
