NORTHAMPTON — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 354 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 infections on Thursday and 37 new deaths, in addition to 165 probable cases and one probable death. There are now 100,504 confirmed cases statewide and 7,337 deaths among those cases.
The state reported on Thursday that 10,833 new tests for the virus were conducted, and 678,925 tests have been performed overall.
The state has reported 913 confirmed cases and 100 deaths in Hampshire County, 348 cases and 49 deaths in Franklin County and 6,415 cases and 633 deaths in Hampden County. Among confirmed cases, the average age of death is 82, the average age of hospitalization is 68, and the average age of those infected is 52.
Among people with confirmed cases, 1,260 are hospitalized, 296 of whom are in intensive care units.
The seven-day weighted average of positive test rates has decreased by 87% since April 15, while the three-day average of hospitalized COVID-19 patients has decreased by 63% within this same period.
Cooley Dickinson Hospital reported on Thursday that it is treating four inpatients with confirmed COVID-19 infection, three of whom are in the intensive care unit.
An additional 49 outpatients and one inpatient are under investigation for COVID-19 infection. To date, the hospital has had 749 people test positive.
Baystate Health is treating 22 inpatients for confirmed COVID-19 infection, including five patients in critical care units. All of these patients are hospitalized at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Thirty inpatients are under investigation for COVID-19 infection overall.
Baystate Health has tested 16,463 individuals in total, with 1,830 testing positive, 14,463 testing negative and 114 pending results.
