Regarding Amherst College Class of 1975 alumnus Steven Kramer’s June 18 column, “Amherst College lacrosse and the quest for ‘Common Ground,’” we wholeheartedly support diversity of opinion, including Mr. Kramer’s, but we educate our students to support opinions with truth and facts.
The college did not and would not make attributions or stereotype groups of people as Mr. Kramer has alleged. The administration’s comments on the actions that were taken are very much on the record. Mr. Kramer has a right to express his opinion and we have a responsibility to correct the record.
