NORTHAMPTON — Parking downtown will continue to be free in July, “in order to continue to support economic recovery,” a recent statement from the mayor’s office said.
The parking holiday for meters and kiosks does not include the E.J. Gare Parking Garage and is planned to end Aug. 1.
On Wednesday, parking enforcement officers started to work again.
“They will be enforcing all non-fee-related parking restrictions, including (but not limited to) handicap parking, no parking zones, parking in crosswalks, spaces reserved for city business, fire hydrants, and 15-minute parking spots,” the statement said. “Residents and visitors are urged to read the signs posted before parking in order to avoid being ticketed.”
