Thatcher Rudnik struck out 7 and pitched 3 no-hit innings to save the Amherst Sandy Koufax baseball team’s 7-6 win against Brattleboro on Tuesday in Dummerston, Vermont.
Charlie May started on the mound, striking out four and giving up one hit in 30 pitches. James Burke relieved him, striking out one and giving up four runs in 35 pitches.
Elijah Rubenstein was the third reliever, giving up no hits but two runs due to walks in 19 pitches. Rudnik relieved and saved their 7-6 lead in the fifth inning.
Jake Smith and James Burke recorded two hits and two RBIs each.
