Michael Bassett struck out seven and allowed four hits over seven innings as the Hatfield Mickey Mantle baseball team beat Northampton, 9-0, in Pioneer Valley Youth Baseball League action Wednesday at Smith Academy.
Hatfield (2-1) scored nine runs on 11 hits, including three doubles.
Nate Moynihan and Aiden Pederson each had a double and a single. Moynihan scored twice and added one RBI. Pederson scored once.
Shane Prusak had the third double, along with one run and one RBI. Will Dobson (two RBIs), Bassett (two runs, RBI), Griffin Smiarowski (run, RBI), Wyatt Jeffress (run, RBI), Ryan Belina (RBI) and Sam Dobson (run) each had one hit.
Hatfield scored four runs in the third and four in the sixth to pull away.
