The Amherst Sandy Koufax baseball team beat Northampton, 10-0, in a five-inning mercy-rule shortened Pioneer Valley Youth League game, Thursday in Amherst.
James Burke walked twice, scored a run and had a hit and RBI. Thatcher Rudnick (run) had two hits, while Elijah Rubinstein had two RBIs. Dan Bussard (three walks) and Shane Bussard (hit) each scored twice for Amherst (9-4).
Rubinstein pitched the first inning, while James Fitzgibbons and Rudnick each followed with two innings of relief. The trio allowed one hit.
Liam Flynn worked through four innings for Northampton (1-11).
