Hannah Gilbert smacked a home run on the game’s first pitch to propel the Valley Storm 14U softball team to a 28-5 four-inning victory over the North County Sparks on Saturday.
Gilbert finished with four hits and three RBIs.
Bri Lynch made her Valley Storm debut with three hits and two RBIs, while Mya Schattin had two hits, including a double and four RBIs.
Margarette Howland (two RBIs, triple), Maggie Potter (two RBIs, double), Amelia Pierce (two RBIs) and Skyler Steele (RBI) each had two hits.
Delaney Fifield (hit, RBI), Anna Bucala (hit) and Kylee Gamache (RBI) also contributed at the plate.
Gilbert started and struck out four over two innings for the win. Lynch pitched two innings of relief and struck out three.
The Storm host the 14U Western MA Heat on Saturday.
