The Easthampton golf team opened the season with a 12½-11½ victory over St. Mary, Friday at Tekoa Country Club in Westfield.

Tyler Cortis, Cole Keefe and Connor Perreault each won their match, 3-1, for the Eagles.

Cortis led Easthampton with a 46 on the par-36 course. Ryan Sweeney, of St. Mary, was medalist with a 45.

Dylan Marsh tied his match and took two points for the Eagles.

West Springfield 179, Holyoke 180 — The Purple Knights dropped their opener by one stroke at Wyckoff Country Club (par 34) in Holyoke.

John Lavelle, of Holyoke, matched Samuel Johnson, of West Springfield, with a 42 to share medalist honors.

Jacob Tassinari (44), Ryan Maloney (47) and Niko Consedine (47) rounded out the scoring for Holyoke.
