Camille Richmond and Galen Fowles opened the season with 4-over 39s each to pace the Northampton golf team to a 170-189 victory over West Springfield, Monday at Northampton Country Club.

“It’s a great start,” Hamp coach Michael Chapdelaine said.

Ben O’Connor added a 45 and Evan Yurko had a 47 to round out the scoring.

Fowles and Richmond shared medalist honors.

Sammy Johnson had a 41 to lead the Terriers.

Palmer 14.5, South Hadley 9.5 — Nick Hartley and Sean Whalen each took three points for the Tigers, but the hosts dropped their opener at The Ledges Golf Club.

Hartley led the Tigers with a 46. Keegan Earle and Whalen added 49s.

Ethan Beauchemin was medalist with a 6-over 42 for the Panthers.
