NORTHAMPTON — The public can once again browse the shelves of Lilly Library, marking “the day we’ve all been waiting for,” the library announced.
Starting this week, browsing slots of 50 minutes are available by appointments that can be made by phone, at the front desk, or on the library’s website.
The library will look a little different than it did when it closed this spring, however. Bathrooms are not available, plexiglass barriers have been installed, and a maximum of 10 people can be in the building at once, according to the library.
Gloves and masks, which the library has available for the public, must be worn while in the building. Books are quarantined for three days when they are returned. Visitors can also use the computers and printers in the building.
Forbes Library’s building is currently closed for browsing, although it is offering remote services and library book pickup, according to its website.
