SHUTESBURY — A motorcyclist who crashed on Route 202 while heading north late Saturday night was not immediately located by police officers and firefighters who responded to the scene, according to a Pelham Police Facebook post.
Upon arriving to the scene at mile marker 47, police found the crashed motorcycle, but those who saw the crash told public safety personnel that the rider walked away. Shutesbury firefighters also responded to the crash.
Pelham police and State Troopers checked the woods and drove patrol vehicles from the scene north to Athol without locating the person, or determining if the operator suffered serious injuries.
State police are in charge of the ongoing investigation.
