Michael Camara’s unassisted goal late in the third quarter proved to be the difference as the Amherst Regional boys soccer team slipped past South Hadley, 1-0, Friday in Amherst.

Connor Plankey and Owen Young combined for no saves in the shutout.

Tyler Evans had seven saves, including three quality stops, for the Tigers.

PVCICS 2, Smith Vocational 1 — Cooper Garbiel-Achorn and Teddy Scott scored as the Dragons won at home.

Jim Holt had an assist, while Abram Speek (one save) and Gavin Gilburg (no saves) shared time in goal.

Cole Boisvert scored for the Vikings and made five saves.

Field hockey

Belchertown 0, South Hadley 0 — Neither team could get much going as they played to a draw in Belchertown.

Abigail Rothstein, the Orioles’ keeper, and Kaitlyn Lynes, the Tigers’ goalkeeper, each had five saves.

Girls volleyball

Amherst Regional 3, Agawam 0 — The Hurricanes got 20 assists, four aces and two kills from Amelia Beigel as they won 25-14, 25-22, 25-16 on the road.

Skye Nolan finished with 11 digs, Mayouri Yath had five kills and three aces, and Nicole Lambert added seven kills and five digs.

Boys cross country

Pioneer Regional 24, Hopkins Academy 31 — Cade Lanzafame (19:39) finished in third place and Teddy Cyr (21:42) was fifth, but the Golden Hawks fell on the 2.79-mile course in Northfield.

Chris Rex (22:00) was sixth, while Jackson Graham (23:04) and Zach Locher (23:35) were ninth and 10th.

Girls cross country

Pioneer Regional 21, Hopkins Academy 36 — Eighth grader Sylvie DiBartolomeo (19:53) led the Golden Hawks with a third-place finish on the 2.79-mile course in Northfield.

Her sister, Caprial, who is in seventh grade, was sixth (22:31). Aurora Donta-Venman (23:22) was ninth, Jayce Lanzafame (27:42) was 11th and Alexis Selig (38:40) was 14th for Hopkins.
