Tessa Kawal scored 18 points, as the Amherst Regional girls basketball team won its sixth straight game by beating Westfield 49-37 at home Wednesday.

Delaney MacPhetres added 10 points, and Daizany Mares scored eight.

Amherst held Westfield to six points in the first half, outscoring the Bombers 30-6.

Ice hockey

Chicopee Comp 5, Amherst 3 – Kouji Ishida collected his 100th career point on a second-period assist and scored a goal, as the Hurricanes couldn’t complete a comeback.

Georgios Alimonios and Jameson Dion also found the net for Amherst, which trailed 3-1 after the first period. Ishida’s goal tied the game at 3, but Comp’s Dylan Seymour scored the game-winner with 2:24 left. The Colts added an empty-netter to finish the game.
