HOLYOKE — State Police reported Monday that Debra Palata, 69, of Holyoke, was killed in a collision Saturday on I-91.
Troopers from the State Police barracks in Northampton responded around noon to a crash caused by a driver traveling the wrong way on I-91 in Holyoke.
Investigation showed that Palata, driving a 2005 Mercedes-Benz south on the northbound side of the interstate, collided head-on with a 2013 Honda Civic traveling north in the left lane.
The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old Springfield man, was taken to Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries.
State Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
