HUNTINGTON – All articles on the annual Town Meeting warrant, and the one article on the special Town Meeting warrant, passed swiftly Monday.

According to Town Clerk Linda Hamlin, the Special Town Meeting started at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 6:32 p.m. while the Annual Town Meeting started at 7 p.m. and adjourned at 7:26 p.m.

“There were no controversial items on the warrant, so with such a small number of articles, the meeting moved along in record time,” said Hamlin by email.

The annual Town Meeting warrant featured 12 items, all of which passed either unanimously or with one vote opposed. Among their actions, the voters passed a $5.7 million budget and removed the Knightville Package Store as a legal posting place for the town.

The Special Town Meeting article, which asked voters to transfer $24,900 total into three operational accounts, passed with one vote opposed.

There were 39 voters at the Special Town Meeting and 57 Voters at the annual Town Meeting, out of 1,585 registered voters.
