The Valley Blue Sox ended the regular season with a 5-2 loss against the Mystic Schooners at MacKenzie Stadium on Monday.
Travis Holt singled and doubled, driving in two runs for the Blue Sox.
Nathan Thomas doubled and scored two runs.
The loss leaves Valley tied for second in the NECBL’s Southern division at 23-18 with Mystic. The Blue Sox will host the Bristol Blues (12-29) at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday in the opening round of the playoffs.
All 14 teams qualified for the postseason, which starts Tuesday. The top seeds in each division – Keene (Northern) and Marthas Vineyard (Southern) will receive a first-round bye.
The postseason will be a single-elimination tournament until the divisional championships, which will be best of three series. The championship series is also best of three.
