CHESTERFIELD — A Worthington man whom police have been searching for since Saturday was found dead in a car crash off Ireland Street, Tuesday morning.
Worthington Police Chief Robert Reinke said he was searching for 65-year-old Brian Dodge, who was last seen by his family on Friday, until midnight the night before, and that he actually got close to the crash site, located down an embankment, without knowing it.
“I was probably 500 feet away from him,” Reinke said.
The Northwestern district attorney’s office said that the car crash is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. Laurie Loisel, a spokeswoman for the DA’s office, said that the car, a Toyota Corolla, was discovered at 6:34 a.m. Tuesday, and that Dodge’s body was found inside.
No foul play is suspected and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, according to the DA’s office.
