HOLYOKE — Police are investigating a stabbing early Saturday morning that left one man with non-life-threatening wounds.
According to police, the victim had gone into Sam’s Food Store at 515 High St. when an unidentified man approached the victim’s car, which had other passengers. The unidentified man was joined by a number of other people, who then confronted the victim when he came out of Sam’s.
Police said a verbal altercation escalated into a physical one, as the victim was surrounded by the people outside his car and stabbed twice in the back.
The victim was able to enter his vehicle, and one of the other passengers drove him to Holyoke Medical Center, which notified police of the incident at 3:44 a.m.
