Amalie Green had two assists, as the UMass field hockey team opened the season with a 3-0 win over Northeastern at home Friday.

Jess Beech added a goal and an assist, while Georgie McTear and Izzy Acquaviva each found the net once.

UMass outshot the Huskies 16-12 despite Northeastern amassing six penalty corners to two for the Minutewomen.

Marlise van Tonder made five saves to earn the shutout in her return to the net for UMass.
