Ryan O’Neil fired a 1-under-par 35 to score medalist honors out of the No. 4 spot in the lineup and propel Belchertown to a 16-8 victory over South Hadley in a Suburban East golf match Thursday at Cold Spring Country Club in Belchertown.

O’Neil snagged all four points in his match at No. 4 against South Hadley’s John Viola (50).

Belchertown also received 3½ points from Henry Poissant in the No. 6 spot (46), while Brady Perkins (43) and Tyler McDonald (42) added three points apiece in their matches. At No. 1, Riley Breen shot 39 and won one point, and Ben Anderson played well at No. 5 where he posted a 42. All six Orioles posted rounds of 46 or under.

South Hadley ace Keegan Earle had the Tigers’ low round of the day at No. 1, shooting a 38 to win three out of four points. Teammate Bennett Allen took 2½ points at No. 5 after shooting 41. Nick Hartley (46) and Ben Gardiner (48) each added a point toward the team total.
