NORTHAMPTON — The Northwestern district attorney’s office has identified the bicyclist who was struck by a car and killed near Northampton High School on Wednesday.

Charles Braun, 69, of Northampton, was struck while riding near the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Elm Street at around 4:15 p.m.

Braun was taken to Cooley Hospital Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, a 23-year-old Haydenville woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. No charges or citations have been issued.

The crash remains under investigation by Northampton police, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Northwestern district attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, referred to as CARS.
