Jacob Chaisson stopped all five shots he faced, and visiting Belchertown scored twice after intermission to earn a 2-0 victory over Longmeadow in a Smith League boys soccer game Monday afternoon.

Locked in a scoreless game after 40 minutes, Belchertown used goals from Kaden Houle and Nicholas Adzima to seal the win. Chris Adzima and Jack Holt notched assists, as the Orioles improved to 8-1-3 overall.

South Hadley 2, Holyoke 1 – Charlie Anischik scored two goals, including the game winner with less than five minutes remaining in regulation as the Tigers edged the Purple Knights, 2-1, Monday at Roberts Field.

Anischik started the scoring in the 27th minute, giving South Hadley a 1-0 lead with an assist from Carlos David.

Holyoke tied it midway through the second half thanks to a Fredy Rivas tally, assisted by Pat Gubala.

Anischik won it late, with Arya Kouzehkanani notching the helper.

South Hadley keeper Tyler Evans made six saves and Holyoke’s Keegan Kukucka stopped eight shots.

Ludlow 1, Amherst 0 – Samuel Cocchi notched the game-winning goal for the Lions.

Girls soccer

Belchertown 1, West Springfield 1 – Alexa LaFlamme netted the Belchertown goal as the visitors stayed unbeaten with a 1-1 draw Monday afternoon in West Springfield.

Ashley Cunningham recorded the Orioles’ assist.

Jill DeBarge registered 13 saves in net as Belchertown improved to 8-0-3 on the season.

Frontier 5, Pioneer 0 – Hannah Mackin found the back of the net twice in a five-minute span late in the first half to get Frontier off and running. The Redhawks finished it off en route to a 5-0 win over Pioneer in an independent contest Monday at Herlihy Park in Whately.

Makayla Santos and Kylie Laford assisted on Mackin’s goals, which broke a scoreless game after 30 minutes. Anna Petrin, Caroline Crocker and Jillian Worden all tallied in the second half. Josie Fosnot assisted on two of the strikes.

Frontier’s Cady Wells Robinson stopped both shots she faced for the clean sheet.

Palmer 9, Holyoke 1 – Jaylene Moquin had the lone Purple Knights goal in a loss to the high-powered Panthers.

Jayvah Stuckey made nine saves in the Holyoke net.
