EASTHAMPTON — Both new faces and incumbents were elected Tuesday night to the four at-large positions on the City Council, with Owen Zaret, Lindsey Rothschild, Koni Denham and Brad Riley winning seats.

Zaret and Rothschild won reelection, and as in the 2019 election, Zaret was the top vote-getter among the at-large candidates.

“I’m incredibly honored to be supported by the people of Easthampton,” Zaret said Tuesday night.

He said that getting the most votes in the at-large race speaks to support from a broad swath of the city, and he said he was grateful to all the other candidates who ran.

Rothschild said that “this is a really lucky council to work on.”

“We have shared goals,” she said. “I think you’re going to see a lot of productivity from this council.”

Joining Zaret and Rothschild on the council will be newcomers Denham and Riley.

“I tried to be my authentic self,” Riley said. “It was authentic enough to get elected.”

Denham, meanwhile, said that it “feels amazing” to win, and that it was exciting to see the numbers her campaign received.

Two other candidates, David Meunier and Kae Collins fell short, with Meunier losing to Riley by 146 votes, according to unofficial results.

All candidates will serve two-year terms on the council. The city’s five incumbent district councilors were also up for reelection, but they faced no contested races.
