Frontier finished its season 11-7-1.
“I told the girls after the game, let’s not let this game define our season,” Frontier coach Missy Mahar said. “Let’s look at all the memories, big accomplishments we had as a team, and leave the game thinking about those. The whole experience of making the statewide tournament, reaching the Round of 16, that’s all something to be proud of.”
Wood put the Hornets on the board less that two minutes into the game, and she added another early in the second quarter to stake the hosts to a 2-0 halftime advantage.
“They were quick in transition and scored on a counter attack,” said Mahar of the first goal. “Their ability to get from their defensive 25 to our 25 is probably only two or three passes. I think that’s where we got hurt the most, their counterattacks.
