EASTHAMPTON — A 29-year-old Chicopee man died following a single-car crash on Glendale Street in Easthampton Friday night.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Nicholas Yell by the Northwestern district attorney’s office. Yell was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and later pronounced dead.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has not officially released a determination on the cause of death, but it is not considered suspicious, according to Laurie Loisel, a spokeswoman for the DA’s office. The crash occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the vicinity of 44 Glendale St.
The incident is under investigation by the Easthampton Police, State police assigned to the Northwestern district attorney’s office and state troopers with the Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section.
