Another PVIAC alpine ski race, another Hampshire Regional skier finding himself atop the leaderboard. 

Hampshire’s Edward Przybyla placed first at the fifth PVIAC race of the season on Thursday at Berkshire East, blazing through the slalom course in a time of 32.57 seconds to win the boys race. 

Fellow Hampshire boys Dawson Kelly, Zach Ames,  Jon Dunn and Billy Warren joined him in the top 25. Kelly was fourth (34.34), Ames, who won Tuesday’s race, took sixth (35.51), Dunn came in 12th (38.22) and Warren finished 22nd (41.77).

Teammates Isaac Smith (35th, 47.73) and Brandon Couture (43rd, 50.98) added top 50 finishes.

Northampton’s Keller Mahoney took seventh overall with a run of 35.76. Teammate Thomas Michaelson came in 23rd (41.79), Alex Sirois finished 30th (45.35), August Douglas placed 47th (51.63) and Henry Fallon earned 50th (52.80) for the Blue Devils. 

PVCICS had four boys in the top 30 with Sebastian English taking 11th (38.10) to set the pace. Next was Teddy Scott in 13th (38.58), followed by James Scott in 16th (39.84) and Clayton English in 29th (44.47). 

Amherst’s Matthew Owen took 28th while Noah Vamosy took 33rd (46.70) and Alden Hinkel placed 42nd (50.35) for the Hurricanes. 

Weston Den Ouden was the top Mohawk Trail finisher, placing third with a run of 33.83 seconds on the slalom course. 

Warrior Liam Green joined him in the top 10 with a ninth place finish after a run of 36.16. Phineas Tuttman placed 14th (39.02), Wyatt Sisum came in 19th (40.676), Alex Schreiber took 20th (40.83) and Ben Makosiej came in 24th (42.22) to put six Mohawk Trail boys in the top 25. 

In the girls race, Mohawk Trail’s Addie Loomis took home her fourth consecutive victory on Thursday, winning with a time of 27.37 seconds on the giant slalom course. 

Fellow Warriors Ellie Pinkham and Emmy Sisum weren’t far behind Loomis on Thursday. Pinkham placed second with a run of 27.61 while Sisum took third with a time of 27.66 to put an exclamation point on a great day for Mohawk Trail. 

Four other Warriors earned top 50 finishes with Caroline Makosiej placing 22nd (31.93), Cali Price earning 26nd (33.36), Myah Grant taking 33rd (34.46) and Ohia Dellert coming in 49th (37.28). 

Amherst’s Sea Kay Leung was fourth overall with a time of 28.17. Vivi Bernier came in 23rd (32.00) and Skylar Thompson placed 42nd (35.95) for the Hurricanes. 

Northampton had five girls in the top 50 after Ellie Mahoney placed fifth (28.24), Maddie Raymond took 19th (30.69), Maise Tuck came in 31st (34.34), Giselle Ohm earned 34th (34.47) and Roxanna Clauson finished 45th (36.57). 

Summer Duda was the top finisher for Hampshire Regional, crossing sixth overall with a run of 28.25. Ella Cleary came in 13th (29.59) and Dana Warren placed 30th (34.02) for the Raiders. 

PVCICS was led by Juliet Scott in 14th (29.64). Ella Gander wasn’t far behind in 15th (29.79) while Charlotte English took 38th (35.49) and Aine Doherty finished 39th (35.60) for the Dragons.
