■Dave Musante is sporting a gap where teeth used to be before he got belted twice during recreational activities at Ryan Road School. Dave lost four teeth and apparently has a broken bone in his nose as well.

■The Northampton Board of Health plans a clinic for vaccination against German measles (rubella) at all public and parochial schools on March 14 and 15, as part of a general “get vaccinated” campaign being launched across the country, chairman John Joyce announced today. The vaccine is so new that the present generation of school children was not vaccinated in infancy.

■Jillian Lamoureux, 1997 Greater Easthampton Junior Miss, will compete for the title of Massachusetts Junior Miss this weekend in Franklin. Lamoureux is a senior at Easthampton High School and plans to attend Bentley College.

■In an attempt to keep an eye on millions of dollars flowing from the state to local schools, auditors will pore over the financial ledgers of school districts across the state. “We’re sending out a posse to track down errant school districts,” Gov. William F. Weld said Thursday.

■Local musician Naia Kete got her chance to shine Monday when she auditioned on NBC’s singing competition “The Voice.” Accompanying herself on guitar, Kete, 21, sang Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song” for the show’s four celebrity coaches, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

■A state review of the Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School gives it high marks, leading the education commissioner to recommend a renewal of its charter. The school, which opened in 2007, is on Route 9 in Hadley.
