Top-seeded Baystate Academy proved to be too much on Wednesday night.

No. 4 Granby battled on the road at the South End Community Center in Springfield, but couldn’t knock off the Bulls in a 61-47 loss in the Western Mass. Class D boys basketball semifinals.

Granby (16-4), which beat Pioneer in the quarterfinals on Monday, will now await their seeding and matchup for the MIAA Div. 5 state tournament.

Baystate (14-4), which led 28-21 at halftime, will play No. 2 Hoosac Valley in the Class D title game on Saturday at a location to be determined.

Nate Breault led the way offensively for the Rams on Wednesday, going for 14 points, while Carter White followed with eight points. Also contributing offensively were Tyler Sudbury (seven points), Brandon Wishart (six) and Robert L’Abbee (six).
