CUMMINGTON – The location of Friday’s annual Town Meeting has been moved to Pettingill Memorial Field at the pavilion due to COVID-19 cases in town.
The decision was made at an emergency noontime meeting of the Select Board on Wednesday. In addition to moving the meeting from the Community House to the outdoor location of the pavilion, the Select Board encourages people to mask, particularly those who have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
“I’m glad it’s still going on Friday night,” said board member Kenneth “Trudge” Howes, speaking after the Select Board meeting.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m.
This year’s annual Town Meeting warrant consists of 17 articles, most of which relate to the town budget.
“It’s going to be a rather quiet Town Meeting,” Howes said.
