Danny Melnick Thank cracked a walk off single up the middle, as the Valley Blue Sox defeated the North Adams Steeplecats 5-4 in 11 innings Thursday at MacKenzie Stadium in Holyoke.

It was their second consecutive win and second extra innings game of the NECBL season.

North Adams jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first three innings.

Valley tacked on its first run on a Melnick RBI ground out that scored Lucas DiLuca, who led off with a walk. 

The Blue Sox tied it with three runs in the eighth. Damaurys Rodriguez launched a home run to cut the deficit to 4-2, then Blaze Fadio and Jacob Terwilliger scored on wild pitches after a walk and a dropped third strike, respectively.

DiLuca scored the winning run in the 11th.

Robert Mattei had two hits for the Blue Sox. Terwilliger picked up the win in relief.
