AMHERST — Temporary road closures are taking place in Amherst as development projects near the Hadley town line and in North Amherst continue.
At the intersection of University Drive and Snell Street off Route 9, crews from Warner Brothers LLC of Sunderland will be putting down a final asphalt coat at the new roundabout on Saturday.
The intersection is expected to be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. as work is completed on the road improvement, which is associated with the One University Drive South mixed-use development.
In North Amherst, Department of Public Works crews will be installing water and sewer service for the North Amherst Library beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Traffic traveling north on Sunderland Road will be detoured to Montague Road and then to Cowls Road to get back on Sunderland Road between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. The road will re-open each evening. The detour is expected to be in place for two days.
