I am writing regarding the upcoming election for Hampshire County sheriff. Patrick Cahillane won the primary. One of the losers of the primary has chosen to run on write-ins claiming that more people voted against him than for him. While that is true, I don’t believe that is unusual when there are more than two candidates on the ballot. Under our current system, the person with the most votes is the winner.
One may deny the results, but it’s difficult to deny that Patrick Cahillane is the right person for the office. Pat has the experience and dedication to run an efficient and secure facility. He is open to progressive ideas while keeping the community safe. Please join me in voting for Patrick Cahillane.
