Amid all the controversy over the incident with the Amherst teens and their interaction with police while waiting for AAA to come and fix a flat tire, one crucial question has been ignored: why, among the 48 hours of classroom and on-road instruction required to obtain a driver’s license, is there no requirement to include a lesson on how to put a spare tire on a car?
