Once in a while we just have to stand back in amazed awe of the decision-making process made by our government leaders.
As an example, the Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing the greatest number of free meals and food stamps ever — to 46 million people in 2021.
Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to “Please Do Not Feed the Animals.” Their stated reason for the policy is because “the animals will grow dependent on handouts” and will not learn to take care of themselves!
The people making these confusing judgment calls are usually appointed to these positions by people we elect to do so. Perhaps we should be a little more selective in the people we elect to office?
