Let me try to understand this. The ruling class in Northampton thinks it’s a good time to raise property taxes on its loyal subjects by increasing the assessed values on our properties. The last time I checked inflation is running wild as we enter the winter season. All are faced with crushing heating and electric bills.
Municipalities across the country are flush with cash thanks to the federal government’s COVID-19 relief hand outs.
OK, now I get it!
The city padding its slush fund at our expense is the American way. The power to tax is a wonderful thing.
